The Best Iron Removal Plant in Adambakkam Chennai ensures clean, iron-free water for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. At Nectar Solutions, we design high-performance iron removal systems that enhance water quality, protect pipelines and appliances, and provide safe drinking water.
Iron commonly contaminates groundwater. When present in excess, it affects both the taste and appearance of water. Consequently, water may develop a metallic taste and appear yellowish-brown or reddish.
Over time, iron contamination leads to several problems:
Stains on bathroom tiles, sinks, and sanitary fixtures
Corrosion of pipelines and plumbing systems
Damage to washing machines, water heaters, and dishwashers
Reduced efficiency and lifespan of appliances by up to 50%
Increased maintenance and operating costs
Moreover, excessive iron in drinking water may cause loss of appetite, tissue damage, and digestive irritation. When used for bathing, it can trigger skin rashes and hair fall. Therefore, installing an iron removal plant becomes crucial for long-term protection and water safety.
To adjust the pH factor, we perform chemical pre-treatment. Then, we dose the raw water with chemicals before sending it to the aeration tanks. This process ensures rapid oxidation of dissolved iron.
We send chemically dosed water into a three-chamber aeration tank. Initially, water sprinkles through perforated pipes in the first chamber. Next, it travels through carefully designed vents into the remaining two chambers. This zig-zag motion increases oxygen contact, allowing dissolved iron to oxidize and form suspended iron particles.
Alternatively, we pump chemically dosed water into a storage aeration tank, where it remains for 8–10 hours. During this time, natural oxidation converts dissolved iron into suspended iron particles.
The water containing suspended iron passes through the iron removal unit. The filter media rests on a gravel bed consisting of layered Manganese Dioxide, Activated Carbon 900 IV, graded quartz sand, fine sand, superfine white sand, and pebbles. This media effectively traps suspended iron particles and dirt.
As filtration progresses, the filter bed accumulates particles, increasing pressure drop. When a predetermined pressure is reached, the system shuts down for backwashing. After cleaning, the media is rinsed with raw or treated water, and the filter returns to service.
Our NONFERR Iron Removal Plants feature Mild Steel, SS, or FRP pressure vessels. The frontal piping system includes manual or automatic multi-port valves, butterfly valves, and conventional valves for easy operation and control. Flow capacities range from 1,000 Liters/hour to 1,000,000 Liters/day, making them suitable for both small and large-scale applications.
